For therapy sessions: Medicare holders may be eligible for up to 10 sessions per calendar year for those with a Mental Health Care/Treatment Plan (MHTP/MHCP) from their GP before their appointment. The Medicare rebate is $149.05 (as of July 1st 2026)

Medicare Safety Net

If you have reached the Medicare Safety Net you may be eligible for a higher rebate (with a valid referral from your GP)
Private Health Insurance
Psychology sessions may be reimbursed by your private health insurer.
Please check your eligibility and amount with your insurer.
Note: It is not possible to claim from both Medicare and private health insurance for the same session.
Payments
Payment is due on the day of the session. A direct debit system is offered whereby the payment is automatically deducted. If eli receipt is provided for Medicare claiming.
Cancellation Policy
A 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduled appointments so time can be offered to someone who is waiting to be seen; otherwise, a full session fee will be charged. Medicare rebates cannot be claimed for missed appointments.
